Second and Third Grade Readers

I also wanted to expose my girls to more literature books when I created our  Beyond Literature program.  So I set out to list books they might enjoy reading, scoured other books and resources, and my childhood favorites.

I was torn at my 3rd grader's reading level as she finished All ReadAbout ing Level 4 this year.  I wasn't sure what she would be comfortable with, so I created two lists for her.  I would consider this list divided into second and third-grade levels.  The second-grade list consists of beginning chapter books and is easier to read than full chapter books on the third-grade list, and the third-grade list contains more advanced chapter books.  Both lists are appropriate for second or third-graders aged even to nine, depending on their reading level.

In the free downloads, you will find a picture list of the books, a title and author list, book descriptions, and a suggested reading schedule.

Eventually, there will be lists for all grades, but I am working on creating an index on where the girls are and where they will be next year.
